Getting started

Your first visit starts before the farm gate

A simple guide to contacting ENVET, asking the right questions, and planning a first visit without the guesswork.

How do I arrange a first visit to ENVET?

Contact the ENVET team before coming to the farm. Call +1 540-504-8401, email envet501c3@gmail.com, or use the messaging links on our contact page. The team can explain current activities, eligibility, and available visit arrangements.

You do not have to arrive at that conversation knowing exactly what you want to do. “I’m interested in learning about ENVET” is enough to begin.

What is ENVET, and where is it?

Eagle’s Nest Veterans’ Equine Therapy is a donor-supported nonprofit providing equine-assisted activities and therapies for United States and partner-nation Veterans, Active Duty service members, Reserve Service Members, their families and loved ones, and Families of Fallen Heroes. It is based at 37958 Long Lane, Lovettsville, Virginia 20180.

Our programs are completely free of charge to those we serve. Our Horse Heroes are at the heart of a calm and peaceful haven for learning and connection. Explore ENVET’s programs, then confirm the arrangements for your visit directly with the team. This website does not reserve a place or confirm an appointment.

What should I ask before visiting?

These questions can help you make a plan:

  • Which activities are currently available, and who can participate?
  • Can a family member or support person come with me?
  • What should I expect during the first visit?
  • What should I wear or bring?
  • What terrain, seating, and restroom arrangements should I know about?
  • What happens if the weather changes?
  • Where and when should we meet?

Your questions can be practical, personal, or as simple as “I’ve never been around a horse.” The team is the right place to discuss what a suitable visit could look like.

Do I need to send documents first?

Do not send a DD214, military identity document, medical record, or Social Security number through ordinary email or social messaging. Ask ENVET how any necessary eligibility verification should be handled. There is no document-upload or medical-intake form on this website.

Keep your introduction short. Share that you are interested in visiting and how you would prefer to be contacted. You can ask about the next step before sharing anything further.

What if I’m not ready to schedule?

Learning more is a valid first step. Read about ENVET, look at life at the farm, or ask one question. There is no need to make a commitment just to start a conversation.

When you are ready, plan your visit with the team. Please confirm the details before traveling.
